TruGlo 4x32 Crossbow Scope with Camo Finish

truglo-4x32-rangefinding-trajectory-compensating-crossbow-scope-with-rings-camo-tg8504c3-1

I recently had the opportunity to test out the TruGlo 4x32 Rangefinding/Trajectory Compensating Crossbow Scope with Rings Camo TG8504C3, and I must say, it’s a pretty impressive scope for the price range. The first thing that stood out to me was its shock-resistant build, which adds a certain level of durability and reliability to the scope.

One of the most useful features of this scope is its range finding and trajectory compensating reticle, which helps make quick adjustments on the fly, ensuring that your shots remain accurate. The generous 4-inch eye relief also made it comfortable to use and reduced eye strain during extended sessions of shooting.

However, there were a few areas where I felt the scope could use some improvement. The fully-coated lenses provided good brightness and contrast, but I noticed that they could use better quality glass for a clearer, sharper image. Additionally, the rubber eye-guard, while a nice added touch, seemed to interfere with my ability to get a clear and complete view of my target.

Overall, I would say that the TruGlo 4x32 Crossbow Scope with Rings Camo TG8504C3 is a solid choice for those looking for a budget-friendly yet functional scope. While there are a few minor drawbacks, the pros definitely outweigh the cons, making it a worthwhile investment for any crossbow enthusiast.

Advanced Crossbow Scope with Infrared Technology

killer-instinct-lumix-speedring-1-5-5-x-32-ir-e-crossbow-scope-1

Hunting season can be a joyous and challenging time for anyone who is passionate about the sport. The Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring 1.5–5x32 IR-E Crossbow Scope has turned my experiences into an unforgettable adventure.

One of the biggest highlights for me was the crossbow scope’s ability to effectively track and aim at moving targets from a significant distance. It was fascinating to see how quickly I could adjust my aim with this top-notch tool. The built-in Lumix Speed Ring made it easy and precise to adjust the scope’s magnification for crossbows with varying FPS.

Another feature that stood out was the scope’s resilience. The durable metal case, made to shield it from impacts and harsh weather, added a layer of security. I enjoyed the convenience of the spring-loaded covers, which kept lenses protected until I was ready to sight in on my target.

The red/blue illuminated reticle also deserves recognition for its versatility. In different lighting conditions, I was always able to make accurate sightings. While I found the red and green illumination to be familiar, the option to toggle down to blue light really shone in cloudy days. I appreciated the scope’s ability to hold true once it was set, eliminating the need for constant adjustments.

However, there were some drawbacks I encountered. The scope was slightly heavier than some of my previous ones. While the construction was solid, I couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed by the weight during long hunting expeditions.

Additionally, some users reported minor issues with the speed ring and magnification. Despite these setbacks, the overall performance of the Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring 1.5–5x32 IR-E Crossbow Scope met my expectations and more. Whether I was aiming at a whitetail buck or pheasant, this scope gave me the confidence and clarity I needed to hit my mark.

Ultimately, my experience using the Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring 1.5–5x32 IR-E Crossbow Scope was an eye-opening journey. It brought new levels of precision and adaptability to my hunting excursions. While the scope wasn’t perfect, I found its numerous pros far outweighed the cons. If you’re looking to up your hunting game, this scope could be your key to success.

Garmin Xero X1i Integrated Crossbow Scope: 3.5x Magnification and Built-in Rangefinding

ravin-xero-x1i-integrated-crossbow-scope-by-garmin-black-1

As a crossbow enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the Ravin Xero X1i from Garmin. This innovative scope combines 3.5x magnification, built-in rangefinding, and integrated Ravin ballistic data — all within a sleek and compact design.

One standout feature is the automatic sight-in process. Simply mount the scope, select your crossbow, and sight-in at 20 yards. The Xero’s advanced processor does the rest, providing a usable aimpoint up to 175 yards without any manual adjustments.

But the real game-changer is the rangefinding capability. With just a button press, you can range game out to 250 yards and reflective targets up to 500 yards, eliminating the need for a separate rangefinder. The 1.2-inch screen displays ranges clearly, making it easy to keep track of distances.

The Target Lock technology ensures accurate and consistent readings when locking onto a target. Additionally, the Xero offers angle compensation, auto/manual reticle brightness, and an integrated level for added convenience and precision.

However, the device does require two AAA lithium batteries for operation, which might need periodic replacement. Despite this minor inconvenience, the Ravin Xero X1i lives up to its promise of precision and capability in the world of crossbow scopes.

Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 IR-E Crossbow Scope with LED Illumination

killer-instinct-lumix-4x32-ir-e-crossbow-scope-black-1022

I’ve been using the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been quite an experience. The black finish really makes it stand out on my crossbow, and the fast focus eyepiece has made target acquisition a breeze.

The multicoated optics are exceptional too, with great clarity. However, I’ve noticed a downside to it too — the LED illumination isn’t as bright as I’d like it to be.

Apart from that, it’s a solid performing scope at a reasonable price.

Compact Variable Reticle Crossbow Scope

excalibur-dead-zone-scope-32mm-1-tube-1

As a passionate crossbow enthusiast, I’ve tried my fair share of scopes, but none quite matched the capabilities of the Dead-Zone Crossbow Scope from Excalibur. This super-compact scope is designed specifically for crossbows shooting within the 300–410 fps range, making it a top-notch choice for your trusty bow.

One of the outstanding features of this scope is its variable multi-reticle design, which allows for ultimate customization and accuracy. The 32mm objective lens and 1" tube work in harmony to provide unimpeded light transmission and crystal-clear images, even in low-light conditions. The fully-coated lenses further enhance the scope’s brilliance and clarity.

However, there’s a minor downside to this scope: the focus ring can be a bit tricky to adjust, especially when the sun is setting and the light is fading. That said, once you’ve got it dialed in, the scope’s performance is nothing short of impressive.

Overall, the Dead-Zone Crossbow Scope from Excalibur is a fantastic choice for those seeking a versatile and reliable scope that delivers exceptional accuracy, even at a distance. With a sleek design, easy installation, and a reasonable price tag, it’s a must-have addition to any crossbow enthusiast’s arsenal.

Premium Thermal Crossbow Scope

bear-x-speed-comp-crossbow-scope-1

I’ve been using the Bear X Speed Crossbow Scope in the last few weeks during my hunting trips. It’s been a game-changer for me in terms of accuracy and ease of use. The first thing that stood out was its compatibility with my crossbow’s speed adjustments, ranging from 205 to 430 fps. The multi-coated, ultra-clear glass and 1–5 x 24 x 30mm magnification helped me spot my targets with precision and clarity.

One feature I especially appreciate is the illuminated 9-position 20–100 yard reticle. It adds a lot of versatility to my hunting experience, as I can make the necessary adjustments depending on the distance and lighting conditions. However, I did encounter a minor issue with the outside lenses fogging up during my night-time hunts. After treating the lenses with an anti-fog solution, the problem was resolved.

One aspect I was not too thrilled about was the packaging. The product arrived in a big box without proper padding or cushioning, which could have led to some damage during shipping. Nevertheless, the scope itself was well-made, and it was easy to mount and install, despite the lack of instructions with torque specifications for the mounting screws.

Overall, this scope definitely lives up to its reputation, and I feel that it’s a solid choice for any crossbow enthusiast looking for an upgrade. It requires some patience and practice to sight it in correctly, but once you get the hang of it, the result is worth the effort.

High-Performance DSLR-compatible Photography Scope with ED-APO Lens

snypex-knight-pt-72mm-f-6-0-ed-apo-photography-scope-sny-pt72-1

Recently, I had the chance to use the Knight PT 72mm f/6.0 ED-APO Photography Scope from Snypex, and I must say it’s quite an impressive device. The scope’s unique ability to eliminate chromatic and spherical aberrations, thanks to the extra-low dispersion glass and apochromatic doublet lens configuration, made viewing stunning and distortion-free. The anti-reflection fully multicoated optics maximized the light entering the lens, providing bright and high-contrast views, even in low light conditions.

The multi-functional, dual-speed straight-angled photography scope could be easily converted into a conventional angled-view spotting scope with an optional eyepiece adapter. Its aluminum housing was coated with a durable white paint to resist chips and scratches. The focuser, based on the DSLR lens system, offered a smooth and adjustable experience for fine-tuning the focus.

With two 1/4"-20 tripod mounts and an integrated dovetail plate, this scope was easy to mount and balance on a tripod. A reinforced hard carrying case with a die-cut foam interior ensured safe storage and transport. Overall, the Knight PT 72mm f/6.0 ED-APO Photography Scope was a powerful and versatile option for digiscoping enthusiasts.

I recently had the chance to try out the Athlon Optics Ares G2 UHD 20–60x85 Straight Spotting Scope, and let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations! . The clarity and sharpness of the image were impressive, especially considering the size of the scope.

It’s lightweight, yet sturdy enough to handle a good amount of wear and tear. The twist-up eye-cup allowed for a perfect fit, and the protective layer coating kept the lens safe from dirt and scratches.

Overall, I highly recommend this spotting scope for anyone looking for an affordable yet high-quality option.

Zeiss Conquest Gavia 85 Spotting Scope: Stylish and Compact Observation Tool for Wildlife Enthusiasts

zeiss-conquest-gavia-85-spotting-scope-1

During my hunt, my Zeiss Conquest Gavia 85 spotting scope became my trusted companion. The large objective lens enabled me to see even in low light, which was perfect for my late afternoon game spotting. The powerful zoom was beneficial, as I could observe distant subjects with ease. The 45° eyepiece angle made it comfortable to view for extended periods. The magnesium alloy housing felt light without compromising durability. The focus collar and small eyepiece zoom wheel were both easy to manipulate even with gloves.

Although this scope performed exceptionally well, I faced a minor issue with chromatic aberration, which was more noticeable at higher magnifications. Despite this drawback, I found the scope to be an affordable and practical option for my specific needs. I highly recommend the Zeiss Conquest Gavia 85 spotting scope to birdwatchers and hunters alike, as it offers clear and sharp images without breaking the bank.

Leupold SX-5 Santiam HD Spotting Scope with Waterproof and Fog Resistant Features

leupold-sx-5-santiam-27-55x80-hd-angled-spotting-scope-shadow-gray-175912

As an avid outdoor enthusiast, I recently had the opportunity to put the Leupold SX-5 Santiam 27–55x80 HD Angled Spotting Scope to the test. This powerful tool quickly became an essential staple in my backpack, offering unparalleled clarity and a wide range of magnification options.

The first thing that struck me was just how easy it was to set up and use. With a quick twist of the eye cup, I was able to find the perfect focus without any fuss. The 27x to 55x variable magnification was also incredibly smooth, making it effortless to adjust for the perfect view.

While the SX-5’s lens coating provided exceptional light transmission, clarity, and contrast, I noticed that under certain conditions, such as bright sunlight, the glare could be a bit overwhelming. However, this issue was quickly resolved with the Twilight Max HD Light Management System, which added an extra 30 minutes of usable shooting light and effectively reduced glare.

Another standout feature was the built-in retractable lens shade, which kept the lens free from glare and fingerprints, ensuring a clear view at all times. Additionally, the user-friendly focus knob added a level of convenience that I had not experienced with other spotting scopes.

As someone who values durability and reliability, I was pleased to discover that the SX-5 is 100% waterproof and fogproof, making it the perfect companion for all kinds of weather. The sturdy construction also earned me peace of mind when adventuring in rugged terrain.

The spotting scope’s only drawback, in my opinion, was the weight, which may be a concern for some users. However, as someone who is always searching for the perfect combination of performance and portability, I found that the benefits of the SX-5 far outweigh the added weight.

In conclusion, the Leupold SX-5 Santiam HD Angled Spotting Scope has become an indispensable tool in my outdoor adventures. Its combination of advanced features, exceptional performance, and unmatched clarity make it a top choice for any enthusiast looking to elevate their experience in the great outdoors.

In my quest for the perfect nighttime viewing experience, I stumbled upon the Vixen Optics Polarie Polar Scope. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed with its sleek design and compact size. The 5x magnification and 20mm aperture provided a clear and vivid image that made it easy for me to spot constellations and celestial bodies.

This feature, combined with the 3-star alignment precision compensation, has made my nighttime observing sessions much more enjoyable and accurate.

However, there was a minor issue I encountered. The power source, a CR2032 battery, was not included in the package, which caught me by surprise. But with its simple installation process and high-quality performance, this is a small drawback that I can overlook.

Premium 80mm Spotting Scope with HDX Lens and Angled Eyepiece

sig-sauer-soo82001-oscar8-spotting-scope-27-55x80mm-hdx-lens-angled-eyepiece-fde-1

I’ve been using the Sig Sauer SOO82001 OSCAR8 for a while now, and I must say, it’s a fantastic spotting scope. The 80mm objective lens and the 27–55x magnification range are the stars of the show, with images that are incredibly clear and crisp. Of course, no product is perfect, and I found the rotating tripod collar to be a bit tricky to figure out. But once you get the hang of it, it’s a non-issue. The adjustable eyecups are another great feature that ensures comfort during long usage.

Leupold Sx-4 Pro Guide 15–45x65 HD Hunting Spotting Scope with Guard-Ion and Twilight Max HD Light Management System

leupold-sx-4-pro-guide-20-60x85mm-hd-angled-spotting-scope-177598

For this article, I’ll be focusing on an angled spotting scope offered by Leupold called the SX-4 Pro Guide. This 20–60x85mm piece of equipment is pretty hefty at 68.1 inches long and 131weight in ounces, but it’s built to last and designed for all types of weather. I’ve been using it for quite some time now.

When I first got the spotting scope, I loved how seamlessly it fit into my backpack. The integrated sunshade was really helpful in reducing glare and I didn’t have to deal with heavy, bulky equipment during my trips.

The Twilight Max HD Light Management System is truly a game-changer. I was able to catch glimpses of things I never thought I would see through a spotting scope. It was like peering into another world.

However, there was a tradeoff. My trips became a bit more tiring. Although the spotting scope wasn’t heavy, I found that it got progressively harder to carry the more I used it. I’d have to say, the pros of having a more powerful scope definitely outweighed the cons but it was something I had to consider.

The scope also came with scratch-resistant lenses which is always a relief when you’re out and about. It’s amazing to see it survive harsh environments!

While it was built for tough environments outdoors, it was a bit tougher for less optimal situations. When I tried using the scope during low light conditions, it wasn’t as clear. Then again, I should’ve expected that from a spotting scope of this type. A higher-quality scope is necessary for low light conditions.

All in all, the Leupold SX-4 Pro Guide may have a few minor drawbacks but it’s a fantastic piece of equipment perfect for wilderness adventures. It’s definitely earned its 4.6 rating on Amazon.

One of the best features of this scope is its illuminated dots, which are positioned at the intersection of each of the duplex crosshairs. You can easily select non-illuminated black dots or one of two illuminated colored dots (red or green) using a five-position rheostat. This allows you to match the illumination intensity to your hunting conditions, making it easier to spot your target in any lighting.

The scope is lightweight, weighing just 8.5'’, and it’s equipped with fully-coated 3x optics. Buyer’s Guide

When looking for the best 308 scope for your needs, there are several key features to consider. These features will help you make an informed decision and ensure that you get a scope that fits your shooting preferences and requirements.

Magnification

308-Scopes-2

The magnification range is one of the most important factors to consider when buying a 308 scope. A typical range for 308 optics is between 3–9x or 1–8x. Higher magnification provides better precision and accuracy at longer distances, while lower magnification is ideal for closer ranges and quick target acquisition.

Objective Lens Size

The objective lens size impacts the scope’s light gathering ability. Bigger lenses allow more light to enter the scope, which can be beneficial in low-light conditions. Common objective lens sizes for 308 scopes range from 24mm to 50mm.

Reticle Style

Reticles come in various styles, and the one you choose depends on your shooting preferences. Some popular reticle styles for 308 scopes include the BDC (Bullet Drop Compensator) reticle, the duplex reticle, and the Christmas tree reticle.

308-Scopes-3

Field of View (FOV)

FOV refers to the width of the images seen through the scope. A wider FOV allows for a larger field of view, making it easier to quickly locate and track targets. FOV is usually measured in feet at 100 yards.

Turret Style

Turret style is crucial for adjusting the scope’s focus. There are two main styles: capped and exposed turrets. Capped turrets hide the adjustment knobs when not in use, while exposed turrets keep them visible at all times. Choose based on personal preference and the need for quick adjustments.

Eye Relief and Exit Pupil

308-Scopes-4

Eye relief is the distance between the scope’s eyepiece and the shooter’s eye. It is crucial for comfort and preventing eye strain. A longer eye relief is preferred, especially for shooters with prescription glasses. Exit pupil is the diameter of the light leaving the eyepiece, and it should match the diameter of the objective lens for optimal image brightness.

Waterproof and Fog-proof Features

An important feature for many shooters is a waterproof and fog-proof scope. These features protect the scope from water, dust, and fog, ensuring reliable performance under various environmental conditions.

Durability and Weight

The durability of a scope is critical for withstanding the recoil of a 308 rifle, especially during frequent shooting sessions. Generally, scopes with a heavier build are more resistant to recoil damage. However, a lighter scope may be more comfortable to carry during extended hunting trips.

308-Scopes-5

Considerations and General Advice

When researching 308 scopes, it is essential to consider your specific shooting requirements and preferences. Factors such as magnification, reticle style, objective lens size, and turret style should be taken into account when making a decision.

Additionally, always test and compare the scope with a potential firearm before making a final purchase. This will ensure compatibility and help you make the best decision for your shooting needs.

Lastly, consider your budget, as high-quality scopes can be expensive. However, investing in a quality scope will provide better performance and reliability, saving you money in the long run.

308-Scopes-6

Fixed-power scopes have a fixed magnification range, while variable-power scopes allow users to adjust magnification as needed. Fixed scopes are generally more affordable and lightweight, while variable scopes offer more versatility.

Which type of scope is best suited for hunting?

A variable-power scope is highly recommended for hunting purposes as it offers versatility, allowing hunters to adjust magnification according to the shooting distance and target size.

What is the ideal magnification range for a 308 scope?

  • For hunting applications, a 3–9x or 4–12x magnification range is commonly recommended.
  • For target shooting or long-range applications, a 10x or higher magnification may be preferred.

What is the difference between a BDC reticle and a mil-dot reticle?

A BDC (Bullet Drop Compensator) reticle has marks that help calculate bullet drop at different distances. A mil-dot reticle consists of mil-dot markings that can be used for both ranging and hold-over. Mil-dot reticles are generally more versatile while BDC reticles are more simplified for everyday use.

How do I know which scope is the right one for me?

  • Consider the intended use: hunting, target shooting, or tactical situations.
  • Evaluate the magnification range needed for your specific purposes.
